MUM

When I was just a little girl
You were always there for me
You held my hand if I would fall
You shaped me for what I would be
In my turbulent teenage years
We didnt always see eye to eye
But you were always there for me
Even when you wondered why
I married much too young
You didnt want to agree
I thought I was so much in love
I just thought you couldn't see
You were always there with me
When my pregnancy tests proved wrong
You held me up, comforted me
You helped me to be strong
I leant on you once again
Through the two babies that I lost
You helped me to get on with life
To try again, forget the cost
Still you stood by me
When things went so bad
You wiped away my tears
When I was so very sad
You still were there to hold my hand
When my marriage was shattered
You put aside your own life
As if it never mattered
We were always such good friends
We shared so much together
It never even entered my mind
It could not last forever
I remember on my birthday
Three years ago today
Together we waited for the news
And were told you couldn't stay
Now it was my turn
To hold your frail hand
To nurse you and to care for you
And someday maybe understand
As I held you in my arms
When you took your final breath
I know I'll always feel so grateful
I was there for you, holding you, at your death!

I LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU MUM, I ALWAYS WILL!

Very touching write. I lost my mother at 18....a long bout with cancer. I was there too, when she drew her last breath.....she was my best friend. 41 now, and I still miss her everyday. Thanks for sharing this. Peace, Laura
