The Ice Maiden

She stands in front of me,
Giving out an ice cold stare,
A frosty pale faced woman,
Who believes that no one cares,
Her downturned frozen mouth,
Unsmiling ,is full of scorn,
And it would take a lovers kiss,
Once again to make them warm,
Her eyes show no emotion,
Just a dead pan look of pain,
For the sparkle has turned dull,
Will it ever return again,
Her arms hang like icicles
No loving movement anymore,
Will a lovers fond embrace,
Once again make them thaw,
Her heart it is stone cold,
Bereft of any desire,
But it yearns for love and affection,
As hot as hells own fire,
I once again look at this lady,
And my body starts to shiver,
For I see her everyday,
When I look into the Mirror

Aw Sue! May I say I am extremely happy that you noted these days are far and few!
I have known this feeling though. . . cold. Lonely. Hard to cope with sometimes. You
captured an emotion and a condition with this that is frightening. I believe a lot of
people can and do relate. There are moments ... and then . . . there are moments!!!
[If you know what I mean]
I hope these become even fewer as time advances, hun. Brilliant write!
