Do you remember
When I first gave
My greatest Treasure to you?
That dusty, unused vase with
Eccentric hearts carved around?
I don’t Remember that day.
The day I remember most
Is when you
Shattered my gift to you
Along with my heart.
Then came the day after
When you came to my doorstep
Glue in hand;
But I would rather remember
How things were
At their best
Than to mend it and
See the cracks
Left for eternity.

This poem is a reminder that there are things we would rather not remember. I do like the intent of reconciliation (glue = willingness to put it all back together again=love.)

But remember sometimes that which is broken grows back stronger for the break. Without pain how would we recognize pleasure |
