THE DOGS OF WAR

Contributed by Steeleyes on Thursday, 6th February 2003 @ 11:00:00 PM in AEST
Topic: AmericanTragedy

The dogs of war are baying for blood
Rumsfeld, Cheney, Powell and Bush
These so-called Christians
Are turning to spit on the face of God

Thou shalt not kill the good book says
Love thy neighbour as thyself
But these four heartless fools
have shown they simply could care less

They talk as cowards kept safe always do
Strong hard words spoken behind a door
Well let them walk to the battle ground
and swim through tides of innocent blood

Let them take a front line spot
And watch as bodies are blown apart
Will all the oil of the world compensate
For these four men so filled with hate?

When children lie face down in bloody sand
And old men's hearts are torn and shattered
When the women scream with tortured cries
Will these four stand with moistened eyes?

They will stand and crow about success
Without shame or grief or pity
The dead shadows will be all around
The black death of wasted cities

These dogs of war are worse than foes
They walk now where the devil goes
They stink of hatred and ambition
All they deserve is our derision

Now they stand and tell bare-faced lies
A finger to the Heaven they despise
Now is the time for us to arise and tell
They have lost their very souls to Hell

Thank you mckayla. yes, let's march on Saturday - everywhere around the world it's PEACE DAY. The time for sabre-rattling and gunboat diplomacy should have ended long long ago. A new world is aching to be born. It has been waiting since the end of WWII. The world that we have all dreamed about at some time - of tolerance and delight in diversity where we can explore what it means to be alive here - TOGETHER!

Rise up on Saturday and greet a new day. Let's dream the impossible again. Let's dream of peace... And then walk forward and build a real peace in this beautiful world...! ;D
