Imperfect Perfection

Contributed by mrpeanut64 on Thursday, 25th May 2006 @ 11:58:10 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

She’s not the most beautiful girl ever seen
No Helen of Troy to make the gods green

But there’s something about her I simply can’t place
Not the color of her hair or the shape of her face

Her legs a bit short, her eyes a touch wide
No voice of an angel, her walk does not glide

No vision of Venus when at her I gaze
But just her mere sight and I’m in a daze

No she may not be a figure of grace
But perfection she is when we embrace

Imperfect perfection, as pure as a dove
As seen though my eyes clouded by love

Andrew Marvell would be proud of you for this one. I think it is in "To His Coy Mistress" where he adresses his mistress in a similar way:
An hundred years should go to praise
Thine eyes and on thy forehead gaze;
Two hundred to adore each breast;
But thirty thousand to the rest;
An age at least to every part,
And the last age should show your heart;
For, Lady, you deserve this state,
Nor would I love at lower rate.
Beautiful write!
Butch

In love... it's not how perfect you see imperfections...
But... how those imperfections make you see the perfection...
Perfectly...

Very nice poem. Keep writing.

Beauty is only skin deep, but beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. You sum it up perfectly, looks aren't everything.You see beyond it in this poem. Sue xx
