The flames of life are fading fast,
The cold chill wind is here,
The last breath in my chest so tight,
And Dr Death he does appear,
He shows the scenes of my past,
My happiness and sorrow,
And now at last it comes to pass,
It is deemed I die tomorrow,
But in my rasping last breaths,
I ask to be reprieved,
And i give my reasons, honestly,
Of why I should not leave,
I tell him so pleadingly,
That I must cling on to life,,
I beg to be spared another day,
And he listens to my plight,
I explain the deeds I have not done,
And promises I have made,
To the child who kissed me last night,
The one who prayed that I'd be saved,
Dr Death he pondered over this,
And before he made his answer,
He said to cheat the pointed finger,
You must first show you are a dancer,
So I danced around the lifeless flames,
And willed the fire to burn,
I span round in a frenzy,
Making lots of twists and turns,
And as I reached the fires heart,
My body became racked with pain,
As the fires burning embers,
Engulfed into flashing flames,
Then the heat of the fire,
Warmed me, and took away my strife,
My breathing became more easy,.
I began to see the light,
A long tunnel lay ahead,
Dr Death was far behind,
As I raced towards the light,
I wondered what I'd find,
Then all at once I was in my bed,
I saw my daughter and my wife,
They said we nearly lost you,
But they brought you back to life,
So in the dance of death,
I succeeded and won,
No more will I take chances,
For my life is good bar none
