The Knight's Oath

Contributed by J_Ganey on Saturday, 27th July 2002 @ 02:48:29 PM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

I, Jason Ganey
Do Solemnly Swear, to a life, of defending my queen
Regardless of what the cost might be
Holding her close all throughout the night
Chasing away, all the things that bite
Taking her hand, and helping her make it through the darkest forests
Carrying you, when your body is too weak to keep going
No longer, carrying the loads of life I, was before
Defending you from the spears, and arrows that life will shoot our way
Casting down our enemies, our memories of the past
Leaving my sword of mistrust, and my armor of darkness over by the trees
I wear the new colors you have given me
My new garments made not of steel, but of finest cloths
Colored, white, as a symbol of the purity you say you see in me
Proudly displaying the crown you've placed upon my head
Jewelled with blue stones all the way around
Much lighter, than the helmet that was there before
A knight of darkness I no longer am
I embrace the light, you shine upon me, my angel
And I swear with my mortal soul to honor you my queen, forevermore
