I am not a great poet,
I am a writer of words,
Based on my thoughts,
And nothing absurd,
I write of the moments,
That have given me gladness,
And of the pain and suffering,
Of death and the sadness,
The fun I have had,
In the Circle called life,
The great times I had,
When I was a wife,
The pleasure I have known,
Like no other,
Yes! the beauty and wonder ,
Of being a mother,
The loss of my husband,
My soul mate, my friend,
Our beautiful partnership,
And its bittersweet end,
My daughter , my rock,
Her love makes me strong,
She alone gave me courage,
To keep moving on,
So when I write my words,
They are healing my pain,
For they help me to cope,
I don't write them for gain,
For I am not egotistical,
Selfish or even curt,
I am a caring person,
Who is prone to being hurt,
Yes a normal person,
Able to laugh and also cry,
Not conceited in anyway,
Egotistical , No! not I

Writing down ones thoughts, whether in a journal (diary fer grrls), a manuscript of what may become ones first book, or poetry, is the most worthwhile activity I could think of. It's therapy, it's meditation, it's healing, it's remembering, it's caputuring, but ... "egotistical? Not not I." Good work, Sue.

| Any effort at writing should never be disuaded..at the very least it's a form of venting. Not everyone can be a great writer but everyone should be allowed to try. great write. |
