  Social

you know who you are

Contributed by rockinpinkshoes on Wednesday, 24th May 2006 @ 11:06:31 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

you have taught me so much

yet i have so much more to learn

you left me with this emptiness

and a desire that does not burn.

so all the troubles we got over

and all the burdens we looked past

its amazing how things happened

and fell apart all to fast.

but in this world we call reality

where i sleep and i can dream

about the memories that stay with me

and will haunt me,or so it seems.

where things are so much different

when you have no one around

you cant help but let your head

hang just a little lower to the ground.

but this is not a cry for sympathy

peoples apologies are not needed,

its just a reminder of what could happen

and something that will never be repeated.

so much time has been laid to waste

and can never be regained

but i cant say it wasnt worth it

because i will never forget the name.

That made such an impact on my life

and taught me how to care

and who helped me get through troubled times

that with only her,it seemed i could share.

so i want to say thank you

for all the things youve ever done

and the memories ill have forever

because for over a year i was the luckiest one.

and by one i mean person

and yes i truly believe so

that i can safely say ill miss you

and just wanted to let you know.

so when you find what makes you happy

ill know this sacrifice was for the best

for i know deep in my heart

that you deserve nothing less

I've been reading your stuff, but have somehow settled on this as my favourite, if only for personal reasons. It does wonderfully to explicate my complex feelings for someone I know. Thankyou

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
