Conversation Of A Drunk Philosopher With A Lamppost
My dear professor
of beautiful matters,
Ive been looking for you
in the blurring reflections;
yet I discovered you only
when I managed to get rid of
the tackiness of dogmas,
which Id been taught from my very beginning.
In the forlorn void
of my weird intentions,
which were both,
my damnation and pleasure,
I was roaming endlessly,
driven by a sole aspiration
to discover the one,
who would introduce me
to the ridiculous science
of causes which allow no effects.
Tell you the truth
Ive hesitated
for they said
that my seek is but useless
because you,
O, my dearest teacher,
are mute
and your eyes are unseeing,
and besides,
all you say is so puzzling,
that only dark stars
are seemed to believe you
Well,
maybe our encounter is futile,
and my thirst wont be quenched
because of your stillness,
and my ignorance hence
will remain secret
to all
except you
and the unborn yet souls
that have found a shelter
in the cradling womb of
no-time and not-knowing.
Still
Im so mulish and daring
that I wish to be given
the ultimate lesson
about the absolute wisdom
that will let me weight up myself among other hollows,
getting closer to the perfection
of simple forgetting.
So
show me the rules with no canons,
those,
which will let me start singing
by the notes of the cosmos,
while Ill be drawing nebulae
by the paints of blinding light,
and laughing and laughing about
the meaning of meaningless being.
Now let me confess:
Ive always been dead
and my birth is a mere symbol
about which every newborns crying and smiling.
and the intention I have is so undemanding:
to have fun just a little
before I forget the word I and vanish forever,
fusing with you
in the primordial silence,
O, my dear professor of inaccessible matters!
