Bitter Emotions

Contributed by yaknowrobbie on Monday, 22nd May 2006 @ 05:04:42 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Sometimes we wear a mask
A mask that hides the pain
A pain from a loss
That tears you apart
A pain that stains your brain
A cage that has you chained
It can drive you insane
Why can't you forget her name

You don't want to look back
But the feelings like crack
Magnetic like gothic to black
A dragon on your back
And it's breathing down you neck
You need help! What the heck!
Get out of there
Leave the check
This is simple
not high tech

It's so, so tempting
It's so, so hard
You want to forget her
But your in jail and your barred

Shes got your heart in the palm of her hand
But she doesn't understand
Shes doing to many things
Then she drops your heart as the phone rings

... And you fall
... So very far
And you hit the ground
You promise you wont cry
Your a soldier, not just any guy
or any man

Your in a million parts
You put yourself together
But you have scars on that heart
So you wrap it in leather

And you put on a mask on to hide the scars
Because happiness seems so very, very far

Nice work, its like you speak for the many of us hopeless romantics in the world. Nice piece.
