An Empty Room

Contributed by Ruby2sdy on Sunday, 21st May 2006 @ 05:24:42 PM in AEST
Topic: Grief

The room in which we loved,
Is now locked and filled with dust,
The bed still crumpled from when last we lay,
I closed the door the very next day.
No air or light has pierced that room,
It’s cobwebbed now, filled with gloom,
That room heard every dream I had
It saw each smile and heard each laugh.
And when he left he left me raw,
So I left that room and locked it’s door,
I confined my pain to within it’s walls,
Years on, I still hear it’s calls,
It beckons me to the unmade bed,
The pillow upon which he placed his head,
And when I hear it my tears fall,
For it is him I hear call,
I hear it as clear as anything said,
The forlorn voice of the still loved dead.

Such sadness. I have known this and it is the hardest thing
to shake. But take comfort in the thought that is gets easier with
every passing day. Writing helps too, and you've expressed
your sadness expertly. Excellent post!

I liked this poem a lot. It wasn't very uplifting but it was well expressed. I can only imagine what you are goin thru (if it's you). I'm here if you wanna talk.

Lovely poem.
