Daddy

Contributed by karoody on Thursday, 6th February 2003 @ 12:00:00 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

Sitting in my hole, looking for an out
But I ran from everything-
Always seemed easier to hide
Now I have too many demons in the way
Scariest one being my own soul-
Tarnished by the cruelty of the world.
Too tired to fight and face myself
No where to run this time
Been camping in this hole for too long
Can't remember how to get out
Though I remember how I got here
And going back the way I came is a fate I can't imagine....
I know you come to see me
But its too dark to see your face
Too dark to find strength in your smile.
If I could just feel your warmth
Maybe I'd find my way
But you left my world and I can't come to yours
'Cause I want something to show for this life
When I can finally knock on your door.
