Maritime Goliath

Contributed by Man_On_High on Sunday, 21st May 2006 @ 12:51:05 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Out of dreary morning eyes I saw him
rising upon the languid incoming waves,
cavorting himself with implike grace in the sun
as if gliding that bright moment out of fantasy
for my shared unutterable delight.

A black and blue portent
of promise in the infant day-
a forgiving and private ballet
for my waking eyes
indifferent to my silent apprise
giving me brief entrance
into his lucid universe;

and I marvel at the music
in the slow stir of surf and tide...
lending to my mind gentle assurance
of sharing with this shining creature:
my own little bow-top and eerie song.

In the instant our alien eyes lifted
to find each other again,
he'd gone back into fantasy...
lest I suffer by my gazing to great a joy-

and he danced upon the waves long after...

...a wonderful glow upon my saddened senses.

Billy

wow bro,

i'm completely blown away by this!! an outstanding write, which, as we all know, has become, or i guess has always been the norm for you.

down in your unique style that never ceases to leave me in awe.

this write, of course, i can relate to...considering the circumstance under which it was written...i.e. an new season 'on the edge'.

spectacular!

What a great story! It brought instantly to my mind something I recently read about a spiritual writer who watched with his family in Florida the dance of whales (in a tank onlly for the tourists to view).
He writes he and his entire family had an unforgettable mystical experience while the whales danced within the limited tank area. The watchers were Ravished out of themselves.

Contageously beautiful
Thanks for composinhg and posting
Blessings
Elizabeth

My first read of your work and I'm impressed at the magnificence of your words so brilliantly scribed to share your "boost of morale" in such a spiritual and nature-gifted way. My compliments. I anxious now to read more.

Though I think the whole piece to be quite exceptional, my favourite
lines have to be the last two. Almost comforting in a way.

This was incredible in it's mythical tendancy, Billy. Makes me want to be
witness to the glorious wonder that incited such a piece. And as always,
your words took me there. Through your write I can feel the sun and surf,
hear the waves crash and smell the salty air. Do you ever write anything
less than brilliant?

Damn! You are nothing if not poetic my sweet
friend!
