The nightmare of an undead heart

Topic: StoryPoetry

When Ricky was born
He was a King
In looks and in charms
Not with gold or a diamond ring

He was a brat
But an adorable boy
If he did not get his way
He would scream and break a toy

And as he grew
He learned reading and grace
With a powerful and fiery voice
And a drop dead gorgeous face

He grew into a man
With a rather big head
He loved himself
And all the girls wanted him to wed

They only saw his handsome face
Not his tiny cold heart
If they only knew he was after money
This blind love would never start

He would strut and roam
The very finest street
Hoping a rich girl
Would be there to meet

Now Silvia was a girl
Whose parents were quite rich
She was gentle kind and caring
And her last thought was on getting hitched

Her looks were not fair
But her heart was still pure
And when Ricky heard of her money
He knew he could make this love sure

He charmed her to ends
With a kiss on her hand
She was dazed and saw stars
But he could only see all the gold and the land

She fell in love
And he fell in debt
He needed it now
All the money he could get

So he charmed her more
Filling her innocent head with lies
She never felt more loved
With her heart floating to the skies

But one day while on her way
To go tell her lover hi
She walked right by a commoner
And happened to catch his eye

He was nothing very special
Just as plain as a fellow could be
But when she looked into his eyes
There was much more to see

When he caught her gaze
His heart felt like a lift
He could not even count the moments
That lasted in this gift

But who then saw
This momentary flirt?
Her new greedy lover
Whose thoughts were now to hurt

He saw the potential thereat
Of this new and humble guy
He knew that this poor fellow
Now had to die

He could not take the chance
That the money would not go to him
He just could not stand the thought
Of his gold going to someone named Jim

So he did it in the night
He did it very sly
So that everyone was left to ask
“How exactly did Jim die?”

He was buried in a grave
That was positioned under a tree
But seeking his revenge
Was all his soul could see

But Silvia wept not a tear
For she never understood
All the love and joy inside
This boy who was so good

Now was Ricky’s time to strike
So he asked his girl out for a walk
He told her how much he loved her
And that they really needed to talk

Bubbles grew inside
This small and loving girl
As she wore a cloud white dress
And a silver ring with a pearl

They had a picnic in the woods
That’s where she got the ring
Her heart was swollen with love
And she could just jump up and sing

She got so attached
Oh my, she loved to dance
She took her man by the hand
And tried to get him up to prance

But he rejected her offer
Saying he had things to do
So he left her with a goodbye
And a heartless kiss to chew

The very next day
While walking down the road
She stumbled on her man
Kissing the Dr’s daughter Aoad

Her heart stopped in her chest
She did not want this to be
So she ran towards the woods crying
Trying to find other things to see

She thought she was no good
That it was all her fault
Sulking under the trees
Till she came to a sudden halt

I gentle sound in the trees
Made a very soft sound
So she danced to the melody
Till a lonely headstone was found

She knelt right in front
And read the engraved words
And then all became silent
Even the chirping of the birds

And when she read the name
A memory came to her brain
Then a pool of luke-warm tears
Came down like a steady pool of rain

And as her tears hit the ground
They were soaked into the grave
Then the ground started to shake
But something in her stayed brave

With a sudden little pop
The coffin then did rise
And out popped a familiar face
And silently dried her eyes

Proud and tall stood that boy
With which she shared a romantic glance
And with a sweet smile on his face
He held out his hand in offer for a dance

The melody then played again
As he swept her off her feet
And then they shared a romantic time
As they spun and twirled to the beat

She noticed not
His green and moldy skin
Or the rancid smell
Because it was her heart he did win

That night they did dance
All the way into town
He in his burial tux
And her in her white gown

But when they reached the tree line
A horror did she see
Her fiancé and that girl
Having a midnight picnic under a tree

And they she remembered
The reason her heart broke
So she took a deep breath
And ran fast enough to give an athlete a stroke

She ran and ran and ran
Faster and faster she did pledge
But with her pale blue eyes shut tight
She did not happen to see the ledge

She fell and fell and fell
For what seemed like an air attack
But before her fragile body hit the rocks
Everything around her went black

By the time that Ricky arrived
The ground was a bloody mess
But he shrugged the incident away
And ran to go get in Aoad’s dress

Some minutes later
Arrived that humble corpse
He saw the jerk that walked away
And was driven by a maddening force

Anger was in his eyes
For he remembered this midnight killer
So he caught up with his murderer
And what happens next is not a thriller

Ricky’s corpse they never found
The still say to this day
That if you dig up under that tree
There in the roots his mangled body is tucked away

But the true story
Is one not so short
For the remains of the body
Were used in another dismembered sort

He picked up the man
Like it was a broken twig
And took it to a cave
That was very deep and big

And in this cave he built
As quickly as could be
The grandest laboratory
That a doctor would ever see

And once this was all done
His brain sent a trigger
Then he went back to the rocks
To salvage the remains of her broken figure

He picked up her torso
And her legs once filled with grace
The only thing left unharmed
Was her plain ghost white face

He stood their in awe
Amazed at his heart
Which for once felt broken
And would never again start

But he held back his fear
And began the trip up-hill
Dragging her limps
With no blood left to spill

Then he reached his sanctuary
This morgue that he built
He began to hack up Ricks bones
Feeling little to no quilt

For hours he toiled
Cutting into flesh and bone
Knowing that if he succeeded
He would never again be alone

When the parts were in place
He sewed them all up
Lastly he added the heart
Filled to the brim with love like a cup

He gave it a beat
The one that once played
When he found his start crossed lover
As she drifted and swayed

She looked very patched
With a green and moldy tint
But her full pouting lips
Still held their secret love hint

When his work was done
He added the last touch
He gave the dead corpse
Love from which he had much

When she came not to life
His face turned grim
It seemed that his work
Was his broken sin

He could take it no more
For now his love was fear
So he stared at her soft face
And cried one unholy tear

It rolled down his cheek
Off the tip of his nose
And it dropped on her face
Where the magic then grows

For in his dried tear
That was the last one he could shed
Came out all the thoughts
He kept in his head

It coursed through her soul
And she then understood
His heart was meant for her
So she sprang to life like she should

She was lifted in air
From his love and might
And he took her hand
As they walked into the night

And on top of the hill
They exchanged words of love
As their song then did play
Which came from above

He took her dead hand
And they knew their love could never come too soon
As they danced hand in hand
Forever and after under the moon
