The doll sits on child’s bed
Its ragged limbs long lost of warmth
Its tatty hair forming dreads
The clung on remnants
Of what it represents
The generations of comfort
Of bosom best friends
Its purpose waylaid
And its beauty stale
All that remains are
The sentiments of
Repetitive song.
