Crystal clear eyes; a window into their soul
Cute little hands; trying to grasp at an unseen object
A musical laugh cuts through the air; so beautiful and sweet
Little one of mine; so small and frail
It'll be a year next week; the time sure seems to fly
Unstable walking and first words; my little gift from God
So curious sometimes; please be careful my child
Are you getting sick; your cough sounds terrible
How did you get sick; I took such good care of you
So warm to the touch; I've got to break this fever
Please don't cry my baby; mommy's here
I've got to get some help; please God help me save him
My poor baby; please open your eyes
I can't stand to see you like this; you've never been so still
So many IVs; my poor angel please wake up
Please hold on my baby; mommy's still here
The room is so cold; I can't breathe
How could this have happened; your first birthday is in two days
My legs won't work right; what am I supposed to do
This has to be a dream; my baby can't be gone
God give me strength; the funerals today
This isn't right; you didn't even get a chance to live
My heart is gone; it went with you my baby
The room is spinning; I can't believe I have to bury you on your birthday

wow, this had me crying. my little brother suffered a stroke before he was born ( in the womb) and was on life support for about a month, thank God he is well now but if this is what happened to someone you know then my heart goes out to you. Truly emotional. |

The powerful emotions so painfully put forth in this poem seems to indicate they could only be garnered from personal experience. I hope not, but, if so God's speed to recover from such a loss. Magnificent write.
