Sonnet

Contributed by somnium on Wednesday, 17th May 2006 @ 03:23:34 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

My lover is not one your breath to take
Nor one whos beauty leads you to dismay
Her eyes could never compare to a lake
Also her hair is naught but knotty hay
Her words are harsh and not quick to forgive
So coarse her ways and coarse her language too
And yet my heart she makes to beat and live
She makes my days a quest for her to woo
A life I'd spend for her to give me one
One look, one word, one touch that much would do
And I'll not stop until her heart is won
And until I can make her purr and coo
This man devoted to one cause one aim
To make this lady his, this shrew to tame
