Time For The Truth To Rein

Contributed by NothingMoreNothingLess on Tuesday, 16th May 2006 @ 12:16:49 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

So this is it
I’m letting go
Done pretending
The show is over
You can all go home

Maybe if I did this
Years and years ago
I’d be ready to stand
On my own two feet
But the past is past

I’m struggling to find
Some kind of peace of mind
But I’m still caught up
In all of hatred’s veneer
It’s harder than I thought

So pretending aside
This so isn’t me
I’m sorry I lied
But lying aside
This isn’t the truth

Lies take over
Making this life
Truth run and hides
Forsaking my mind
It’s really my fault

I let it take control
Without ever trying
To take it back
Or question why
This point of view sucks

But I can’t blame anyone
Anyone but myself
For this mess I’m in
Sorry I tried to shift the blame
It’s time for the truth to rein
