One Nation Under God Indivisible

Contributed by Gentlemanpoet on Tuesday, 16th May 2006 @ 06:36:50 AM in AEST
Topic: Patriotic

The tears ran across the face of our hearts.
As the gargantuan birds came with thunderous death.
Oh humanities sorrow as men and women fell beneath the rubble.
A myriad of souls winging their flight to worlds beyond.
Loved ones reaching out to only find an empty hope.
Clutching to the memories of fleeting days.
A weeping nation feels the pangs in depths touching all emotions.
Tenderness unveils herself comforting the fallen and stricken.
Setting aside our prejudice and coming together as one nation indivisible.
Old glory does not fall but is lifted high to keep our spirits looking.
Finding our faith that had become dull and almost void.

Dawn awakened a new spirit and finding strength in our unity.
The winds of time ran across our memories fueling our will.
A child cries but is comforted by a mother filled with sorrowful pride.
Our leaders joining hands and laying politics in the settling dust.
Hearing the sound of the brave, “lets roll” echo in our hearts.
A nation finds the strength to weep but start the rebuilding.
Oh yes the rebuilding of pride in who we are and where we come from.
Rebuilding the towers of stone and of men.
Wave Old Glory high my friend, yes we were smitten and stricken.
We did weep for our brave and fallen, but we are still standing tall.
This is “One nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all”.

Did you mean smighted instead of smitten... not that that's how to spell it... I've never written that word before so I wouldn't know how to spell it. Very emotional and good write.

nice use of words but the content is lies and fairy-tale heroin babble.
no offence intended.
my view of the world must be 100% random if we live in "one nation indivisible". and in my random view of the world, the world leaders' hands only join when theyre passing finance.
but yeah, nice use of words nonetheless.

there is a lot more good in this world then there is bad... I love your title.. lets make God visible and help our neighbor and lets all hold hands.. and bless God we are all still here to love or even to bicker... we are all sinners in this world and we all need to stick together and help one another out.. God does help us in order to help others....time to open up the eyes and hearts to see that truth.. lovely poem.. RL./.

I meant to say one more thing lol..

that word.. indivisible..

well.. even if they do not get rid of the whole line there.. I am sure they will switch the word from indivisible.. which God cannot be.. but nonetheless.. to

invisible... well, you know how satan works..

anyway, I love your poem.. rl

Many States under this nation have fallen under great judgment, as with Katrina, while the president never ceases to smile. This muse sound more prophetic~ than any normal creative muse one might file.

There's real flair of vision, superb passion of fire; and oh I do so love the positive outcome~ when such a nation is humbled (at last) to aspire~!
