why do I have such mixed feelings?
I should be sad
but I am happy
I should be happy
but I am sad
So I put on a mask
One that will impress
One that will make others happy
However I am happy that I am leaving
this place that was once called
my personal hell
But alas I am also sad
To leave this place
That is also my haven
It's hard to imagine
that the years went by
slipped through my fingers
like tiny grains of sand
For now I will walk across
the bright lighted stage
and start out on the road
beneath my feet
And now I leave
to go on with the next chapter
I am caught at a fork in the road
which way do I go?
Do I know what lies ahead?
Might as well ask someone
what heaven is like
No one knows for sure.
But then again....does anyone really want to know?
To know what lies ahead?
To know what will happen?
To know where love lies?
To know how it will all end?
Why ruin the fun?
I would rather be surprised by life
then to know life's secrets
to know the future
So come on life
bring on the surprises
I can handle
I know that I am ready.

Great poem. You are off to a good start and I wish you peace and happiness on the road you decide to take.
