When the broken heart feels one more ragged edge
When the darkest reaches of a sunlit mind rebel again
When the shadows creak and sneak through shattering mindsets
When the questioning begins, where are the scattered claims to love?
Pray tell, where hide the figures that smile with the sun,
The silhouettes that lay claim to friendship and caring?
Ah, run with the onset of shadow, deserted when the skies turn gray
They leave behind the residue of falsely solid promises,
Of see-through trust and mocking love
Scattered with the wind, left are you, alone, in time of deepest need.

A wonderful question put to the soul. It captured me and I found myself asking inner questions evoked by this piece. Excellent!!!! |
