The War

Contributed by Sordida on Saturday, 13th May 2006 @ 04:14:35 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

Oh say can you see
by the dawns early light
the fire surrounding
and the hatred in sight

I raise up my head
for I know what I've done
and I pity the others
for no one has won.

an absent feeling for years
I now feel inside
this feeling is guilt
I feel like I've died.

I've ruined so much
in this false unknown war
I must take myself out
I must head for the door

I sit in a field
with blood on my hands
remembering everything
as if I sat in the stands

Watching in on my life
critiquing mistakes
watching my tongue
and calling me fake

'Was it worth it' I say
echoing back in my ear
'all the pain yo have caused'
'all your worry and fear'

'Did you fight the right fight'
'Did you choose the right cause'
Then I smirk to myself and scream
"LOVE CONQUERS ALL"

Sounds like a lovers spat to me... And it's true, Love does conquer all... except for bills, can't really pay them love. You can knock out the guy that comes to turn off your electricity in the name of love. Well, I guess you can suffocate him to death with a very lovefull hug. But I digress...

You got the right feelings in there, I liked it... thanks for sharing, and you can even message me the story if you like... I'd be interested.

Aq.
