So Alone

It wasn’t that I was lonely, I was just alone
Feeling empty because of how you filled me up
With your fibs and fabrications
Seeing you paint your face on everyday
Just took the color away from mine.
I let you go, and we both know where
There is no question of what you did or didn’t do.
I was waiting for you to come back home
And take advantage of my needing
I was counting down time.
There were times I felt the inches between us
Were more like vast oceans filled with waves
Of our breaths, but unlike the ocean
We were never one
Neither of us was ever whole.
The morning after the moon was still high in the sky
Pale and white, like the line sheets I threw away
After you touched them
Funny how when I was lying next to you, I felt
So alone.

Many don't understand that there's a difference between being alone and loneliness. This is really an emotion write of which I adamantly can relate to empathically.

Wow hun. Great job. It's funny how when we think we need someone... we build it up in our minds to where we think we can't get along without them and then we realize that... all along when we were with that person "I felt all alone". Very nicely put!

I like the fact this poem teaches an important lesson in our journey to search out meaningful relationships. It reminds me that a balance of physical and intellectual attraction and kinship go hand in hand to solidify the bond. It is an intricate balance to maintain and difficult to establish. If one of these elements is missing, true love will not bloom. I love the first line of thie poem!!!

I just cain't resist an invite t' interpret.
Every word of this poem is magnificent, but I am humbly in awe of "There were times I felt the inches between us Were more like vast oceans ..." I interpret this assertive piece to say you were in love with "fibs and fabrications" until you realized you were all alone until "the morning after". Beautiful Number "5", kei.
