I am no stranger to disappointment,
I have felt it's sting many times before.
I've played with fire,
and suffer it's consequences.
I am the fool of all fools.
Lost in my own thoughts,
in my own world,
I am losing myself,
gradually,
I slip away.
I retreat.
I dare not look too deeply,
fearful of what I may find.
Resignation.
This fool,
the many mistakes,
my sinfull thoughts.
I cannot claim honour or purity.
I cannot claim love or truth.
I played a dangerous game,
my soul the pawn,
and I have lost.
