Candle Lit

Contributed by Gentlemanpoet on Friday, 12th May 2006 @ 06:59:40 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

I Cross the line of here and now, my soul it enters there.
And journeys far through time and space, another day to share.
A lonely candle without a flame, its heart is waxed and cold.
Life is cruel and unfulfilled, no one the candle hold.
Along the way someone appears, and lights a tiny flame.
The winds of time the flame to snuff, and no one there to blame.
Then there comes a candle bright its flame it sends new light.
The darkness flees and life is new, and chases away the night.
Two candles now shine brightly there, reflecting fourth their love.
A prayer is sent and thanking God in heaven up above.
Two candles make their pledge of love, their place now in the sun.
The candles burn together now, two flames become as one.
The candles now have burned so bright, the years now in the past.
Their warmth and love still brightly shine, forever will it last.
And when all time has ceased to be, and day has turned to night.
Two candles with their love and warmth, still shining there so bright.

Butch took the words right out of my mind. I really enjoyed how the lighted candle was used as a powerful imagery for love, warmth and unification. Excellent work. May the candles flame burn forever.
