You told me there's an Eden,
A place where wildflowers grow.
You told me there's a Heaven,
A place devoid of ice and snow.
You told me there's a Hell,
A place where souls are doomed to die.
You told me there's an Earth,
And land and mountains, sea and sky.
You told me I was loved,
And nothing but your truth I heard.
You told me I was special,
And I believed your every word.
You told me how he died,
And I believed you even still.
But now you've told me something different,
And now I never will.
