Candle wax drips down along the white stem
Late again, late again. He broke the promise again.
The car pulls up three hours late.
Sad eyes look to cold plate
He opens the door she almost lets loose for the sorrow and fear.
She sees his battered face wet with blood, and tears.
She forgets the anger, forgets the worry, and lies
Grabs the towel in front, rushes to him and cries
she’s sorry for the anger, and the cuts on his broken face.
He sorry for the broken promise and the Cold plates.

Well written. Tells a short story. I enjoyed reading this. Good imagery. Good emotion.

Gripping. I like the style used too, not full of itself, simple, but showing evidence of thought. Well done.
