Apparitions of her hang like a mist in my mind,
I constantly ache; my hands keep on shaking,
In that bleak moment I dry the tears from my eyes,
Then I long to sleep, but never awaken,

Mixed emotions and memories cut tentative strings,
That I cling too in hope that love finds a light,
In the realm of reality I continue to fall,
As the impact of heartache crushes my life,

Lost in my sorrows, confounded by fear,
As I search for the answers of what went wrong,
I reach for her picture I keep by my side,
As she comes through in waves in our favourite song,

I whisper our song upon soulful breath,
I sigh in my heart, feeling trapped in these words,
As visions of her run as real as my tears,
I sit and recall all the times we have shared,
