Counterfeit Stupid Cupid

Contributed by Lilly-Quill on Tuesday, 9th May 2006 @ 01:59:22 AM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

Stupid Cupid, many fallacies ascribe your destined trip
Of course I'd like to clip your wings, for an uneven fit
For ones, in-love-with, who are oft' in-love with another
Past sibling rivalry love or humanity’s type for a brother

Everyone’s up for love, just indecisive for which to frame
I’m in love for Heaven’s sake and true Destiny’s claim
For all God offers, there’s a counterfeit easy to except
Poetry is a counterfeit creation to reality’s true concept

Cupid you’re a false pretence made of flatteries to wane
Happiness can be cheap enough as dearly we pay for it vain
Let hope be of Jacob's Pillar, Stone of Destiny's Dreams
Your counsel is based on insecurity, false hope’s schemes

But what test of True-Love’s best, the kiss of living wine
Masterfully, THE WORD'S my test for Wisdom’s gems divine
Does love feed only the ego, or does it not nurture the soul
Love seeks not it’s own but loves to give for Love’s whole

a myth yes. sounds like a random chance to be hit by an arrow... fate of magic... hm...so what if cupid lands on someone you would not rather be with.. do you go along with the mystical idea... in that case we could have been fated to anyone... wherever the arrow lands... I know cupid never stuck me with his poisonous arrow for love or to win the lottery lol...love so to speak is not caused by anyone or anything, love is pure and it is God. Even when we feel it is our choice to whom we are with, that love match is not of our own.. now we may go ahead and not listen to God and make our own decisions, and when we do that, it will not last.. go figure... Gods doesnt use an arrow to pierce your heart with to fall in love... He made us with love, he is love...gee whizzes if we can't feel love of what we are made out of, that is sad...wonder who is sleeping in their life... wake up... amazing how anyone can believe in a valentine symbol .... with Gods love their is no jealousy, punishment... however there was a true St. Valentine.. good job on poem...

wow oh wow!!

Powerful. SO bloody powerful. LOVED this entirely!
Your words sear right thru me. This is a lesson
that should be taught in schools! Truly a most
masterful work of art.

"Love seeks not it’s own but loves to give for Love’s whole"

Oh god! Brilliant!! That has to be my favourite line!
