With You By My Side

Contributed by The_Young_Poet on Monday, 8th May 2006 @ 08:02:48 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

I laid there admiring the stars
I stared at them closely
Thinking I was seeing you
Floating among the stars
Strumming your guitar
Playing our song to me
I sat up on my elbows
Admiring this little vision
That played before me

I heard the music get louder
I turned and saw your angelic eyes
Staring back at mine
Guitar in hand
As your hand ran
Along the instrument
I listened as you sang
Feeling a pang in my heart
I knew you were my sweetheart
But something more
Love…?

You sat next to me
Putting your face close to mine
Your breath tickling my face
As it played along my lips

I felt my heart skip
A beat as you scooted closer
Your skin as soft as a flower
Soothing me as it sent a rush up my skin
As I held your hand

I rested my head on your shoulder
Thinking I’ve finally found that treasure
You

We peered into the stars
Me feeling that I couldn’t ever feel far
From you again
That I couldn’t feel pain
That I turned sane
As I finally had you by my side
I thought to myself
No fight can find its way
I wouldn’t allow
With you by my side
