I Promise

Contributed by The_Young_Poet on Sunday, 7th May 2006 @ 09:22:33 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

I know I’m hurting you
I can see it in your eyes
Love applies
To the heart
Which I broke
I can see that you’re aching
From all this sorrow

It’s as if I took a crossbow
And shot you through the heart
I now see that I haven’t been very smart
That I haven’t realized
I’ve been hurting you all along
I know all I ever was, was wrong

You’ve been acting all tough on the outside
Truly, I could see you were dying on the inside
Every time we had a fight

You had your pride
Which I took away
With every ray
Of cruelness I put towards you
I know now that you knew
That I wasn’t fair
But you kept giving me more chances
As I spent them with unawareness

Now I write my apology
Hoping that deep down
You can finally trust me
With you kind heart again
I promise not to cause the pain
I made you once go through
Time has passed
I won’t put you last
I’ve changed
As if my heart has been exchanged
For a more caring and kind heart
I promise to care
To be fair

No, I won’t be a liar
To you and everyone else
You’re my everything
Ill give you a ring
To promise my honesty
Trust me, I’ve known the achy
Feeling from all the lies
A rose
To symbolize love we could have
Because I know I crave yours
My Heart
To express how much I love you
That I’d do anything for your love and trust again
I promise
