To my dearest friend

Topic: FriendshipPoetry

Once upon a time and long ago there was a man I used to know
A man who was careing, thoughtfull and kind
A man I thought I was lucky to find.
But something changed, something went awry
he sought great pleasure in making me cry.
He became nasty, spiteful and mean
a side that I'd never in him before seen.
After a while my confidence took a dive
without him I thought I could not survive.
He left me alone night after night
he'd come home drunk and start a fight.
We'd yell and scream and call eachother names
I got so sick of those stupid mind games.
.
I needed a friend, someone who'd care
so I got on the internet and found you right there.
You made me laugh, you made me smile
an experience I hadnt had in quite a while.
We spoke of poetry, music and art
we connected with eachother heart to heart.
You touched my soul with your gestures and words
You let me speak out, you let me be heard.
You showed me that life doesnt have to be stressfull
You showed me in love that I could be successful.
So my thanks go to you, my dearest friend
Your kindness I will remember from now until the end.
