Boston

Topic: oops

i'll go to bed early, cry myself to sleep
i'll wake up and paint on a smile
i'm kinda getting sick of this same routine
and the red wont come off of the tile

the mirror on this wall, it is falling down
the screws are loose and abandoned
the mirror on this wall, it is falling down
and just like this smile it is broken

the coffee is made, as well as the bed
biscuts are in the oven
there is a horrible ache in my head
just add some more medication

breakfast is cooked, the table is set
i pour a glass of coffee
i water the flower's though they are dead
i just can't get this pain off me

i pack up my bags, stuff them with clothes
and i silently walk out the door
no one will miss me, if no one knows
i buy my ticket and board

the plane is flying through the sky
i just look out the window
i can feel my past whisper goodbye
it is time to get off now

i'm in a new town, came to start brand new
i wont think of home often
but somethings not right, you should be here too
i'm in a town called boston

i heard a song that was similar to that once, called "boston" by a band named Augustana.
it goes
"She said I think I'll go to Boston...
I think I'll start a new life,
I think I'll start it over, where no one knows my name,
I'll get out of California, I'm tired of the weather,
I think I'll get a lover and fly em out to Spain..."

anyways, nice write. xx

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
