Drowning Now

Contributed by keilantra on Thursday, 4th May 2006 @ 07:02:36 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

The sulfur on lips
The acid on your tongue
The burning in my soul
I’ve done many things wrong.

I made you believe there was something
Where there was nothing at all
Unless that nothing was a something
I left you to crash and fall.

I toyed with you so frequently
And never stopped to think
That these endless games would ever
Drive you to the brink.

Now you raving at me
(Now that your strings have come apart)
Your eyes- they thrash around me
And falls, your ever bleeding heart.

Asking me why?
Did I really mean to hurt you?
No, it was just my selfishness
And all the things I didn’t do.

I could have saved you from the heartache
(I am continuously causing you strife)
I could have been more cautious
(I could have saved your life)

You’re drowning now
(In a pool of someone’s sin)
I could have been the truths you never told
Or the stories I did spin…

That caused you to blow up like that
(But now you’re just sinking to the bottom)
I wish I could bring you back
But to me, you’re already forgotten.

You’re drowning now
But I won’t reach out to help
You’re drowning now
But I can only save myself.

You’re drowning now
You’re begging…”please save me”
But nothing will be left of you
Not even a memory.

I’ll walk away now
Now that you’re gone
I’ve drowned you and I’m guilty

I’ve done so many things wrong.

Pardon my cowboy french, "Say La Vee, don't blame me! I'll do that myself." gurgle gurgle gurgle! LOL.

Enjoyed this somewhat onery write of yours. Think I'll go find an empty swimmin' hole and jump in t' drown myself. Just like a cowboy t' bump his head in confusion. Thanks for the fun read but, don't blame yerself!
