Interesting. I really like the imagery!
"The ocean looks like a thousand diamonds strewn across a blue blanket"
"The sky resembles a backlit canopy with holes punched in it"
I can really see it!!

This is great. It made me smile, a lot, especially your description of the ocean, that's pretty creative.
The first stanza is the best, in my opinion.
The last line ends the write really well.
