THE LAST NIGHT
As it falls
Tiny drops of life
Come crashing
Into the ground.
The darkness of the city
Comes falling into the depth
Of the abandoned streets.
Falling
Falling
And never to live again.
Knowing it was the last night living
Me, the only left
Beside you.
We wandered into the death
Of what used to be life,
Only to find darkness in every corner.
The rain grew harder and
Harder.
Your last words were,
“It’s spreading like venom into a vein.”
Then you wandered into the darkness
But never returned.
The rain was falling as hard as a bomb.
It hit me,
I found myself dying into the darkness like news of a suicide.
Never returning…
To life
