EXPOSURE

EXPOSURE

The right exposure to good things is gateway to successful life,
And a bad exposure is harmful as it can ruin you and your future.
Exposure to bad things is rising, children, the most affected,
The mind corrupted, they are vulnerable to all temptation.

The display of erratic behaviour of the young is of concern.
A child hits its classmate, without provocation, and for no reason,
A boy stabs his playmate in a fit of rage and loosing his balance,
And a man rushes into a pub, opens fire, killing people on sight.

These incidents can’t be brushed aside as sporadic,
They indicate the emerging scenario of the ailing society.
The inimical exposures get tattooed in their sub-conscious mind,
And in an adverse situation, they surface, making them to react.

The excessive violence exhibited in films for action-packed thrill,
And the gun wielding characters, are worshipped as demi-gods
Obscenity is displayed in all vulgarity; morality being the casualty,
The younger ones easily fall prey to such enticing attractions.

The ‘idiot box’, spins out umpteen unclean soap programmes,
Corrupting and tempting, and the youth are the obvious victims.
And access to pornographic material, seduces the young minds,
Thus the unhealthy environment abets the immature to go astray.

It is our duty to protect the young from bad exposures,
O r else we will be guilty of fostering undesirable elements.
Declare war on all vicious sources that corrupt ethical values,
And save our children, from the clutches of the unscrupulous.

You are so right. The best defense -the only defense, is to teach our children about the evil to which they will be exposed, so that they are forewarned and are able to understand the difference between right and wrong. Parents must take time with their children from a very young age to teach them about good and evil. My kids have already been exposed to some of these things and I'm happy to say they have been well able to reject the garbage, because we talk about these issues every day. IF we wait too long to expose the evils that await them and equip them with a strong moral compass, they are doomed to follow the crowd. Good write on an important topic. Good message! Thanks for writing it.
Butch

Loved the write and it's very important message. Our society seems like they enjoy the violence....enjoy the trashiness on T.V. The other day I was flipping through channels trying to find something educational for the kids to watch and briefly caught VH1. My mouth was agape at what the young lady in the video was wearing. I can't believe they put stuff like that on TV and kids watch it. We rarely watch TV and that's one of the reasons why......a lot of trash. Kids worship Brittany Spears....go friggen figure. Thanks for sharing. Peace, Laura

A beautifully phrased, thought-provoking piece of prose which hits the nail on the head like a pneumatic drill. I think that it's not just the efforts of schools and teachers to stop children being exposed to these sorts of things, but also the fault of a capitalist society for making these grotesque images to be exposed to in the first place, sacrificing dignity and morality in exchange for profit. Keep it up mate.
