LORD'S PROMISE

Through stormy nights I sailed against
monster wind and beastly waves knowing not
where my port positioned; assuming to see beyond
drenched dark night where crying whales swam .
Over a paper boat with hoisted multi-eyed sail, nothing
more but a witless man’s journey towards extremity, with a
broken heart that is mine with nothing more to lose, yet
liability towards our souvenir of love* a reason to live.
As an aimless hopeless man at sea I drifted over rough surf
longing to see a tint of green over the pale horizon, looked above
to see my Lord - whom I once knew, pleading him to strike a lighting
-bolt to illumine the gloomy sea for a glimpse of distant destiny.
My gracious lord, king of billion folds of countless angels, with him is the fountain of life;
by his slashing lighting I saw light that led me to the port of paradise.
(my son)*

Oh we are pilgrims, that either trod along the roughest paths or ride the roughest seas. Unawares that HE is always there and never leaves us for a moment. Never leaves us, though our dim faculties cannot see Him.
But He can grant that that lightning bolt to illumine the gloomy sea any moment and see and know our final destiny. - Himself.
Thank you Franco for this profoundly touching and inspiring poem.!
Blessings
Elizabeth

I saw the light shining in your words, Franco! I was downright taken with "our souvenir of love, a reason to live."
Got another triple alliteration goin' through my mind, "Father Faithful Franco. Heh. Flows. Outstanding write, as usual. Compliments.

Loved how you put this together FRANCO....
Yes God is our only hope and destination.I
Loved how you ended with...that line....
My gracious Lord, King of billion folds of countless angels, with Him is the fountain of life, by His slashing lighting I saw light that led me to the port of paradise!
I can't wait to see it! :]

Ahh My friend, what a wonderful way to refer to Mario....a 'souvenir of love* a reason to live.' You will find that hint of green over the horizon again soon.
An amazing write, Franco...
Stay strong..
Hugs
