You Want What We Had, But You Don't Want Me

I ask you what you want in a man,
So you tell me, so I can maybe understand.
In general, it's everything we had together,
Yet somehow, you don't want me.
You want someone who can make you laugh,
I still do, yet you don't want me.
Someone who will go out of their way for you,
I have, yet you don't want me.
You want someone who you know won't make you cry,
I don't remember you crying with me, yet you don't want me.
He's made you cry more in a few weeks than I have in 9 months,
Yet you want him, and not me.
You want someone who is completely honest with you,
I still am, yet you don't want me.
Someone you trust with all your deep secrets,
I still hold your secrets and maintain your trust, yet you don't want me.
Someone who you know you simply feel safe with,
You've slept in my arms, yet you don't want me.
Amazing how everything you say you want, we've had together,
Yet you chose not to want me.
We shared everything you've wanted to share with a lover,
Simply put, why don't you want me?
