I thought you'd be mine

I thought you’d be mine
I dreamed you’d be there
I longed for your arms
I thought you did care
At night I would dream
I would see your sweet face
But nightmares unveiled
Over your charming grace
You stole my heart
And took it away
You kept it for yourself
And there it would stay
My tears were so cold
They would freeze my heart
But you did not care
If we were too part
My life is now gone
It’s shattered and torn
You gave me no love
Now my heart is all worn
Why did you break me?
Was I not good enough?
Did my heart love too much?
Or were my looks just too gruff
