Throughout the whole of my life happiness eluded me,
Contentment became the vase that held my spirit,
My black and white world was with out the color of romantic love,
I could cast no shadow even in full light; I was but a shade myself.
Then this glimmer of Irish green peeped its wee head into my inadequacy,
From the land that my ancestors perpetually went to sac and pillage,
Came an amazing beauty, that emptied my vase of contentment,
I was aghast, of the change in the whole of my being.
The world has become black, white and GREEN,
Shamrocks and ‘lil people run through my soul,
At last I, of my people, know where the Leprechaun’s gold is,
It rests in the heart of a wee lass named Jess

WOW!! I loved this!! That first verse caught my attention cuz it's how I've always felt about my life- Knowing I was contented but also knowing that I wasn't really 100% happy. You developed it quite nicely...
Thank you
Jenni |
