Nobody

Contributed by Jeff_Scott_Morehead on Wednesday, 3rd May 2006 @ 07:41:30 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Nobody
~
Nobody could have convinced you,
If your heart would not see.
That nobody could love you,
More completely then me.
~
Nobody could show you,
If your eyes would not believe.
That your failure to accept,
Is forcing me to leave.
~
Nobody could blame you,
For you’ve been hurt before.
It’s easier to change directions,
Then to walk through the door.
~
Nobody would stand here,
And watch such a terrible fate.
New love has no chance,
When it’s consumed with such hate.
~
Nobody, but nobody,
Not even a nobody like me.
Would fight for a cause,
That wasn’t meant to be.

I can't begin to say how much I love your work Jeff. This is yet another powerful and insightful piece. For me, it brings up such strong feelings of sadness, partly for the writer, but mostly for the person the poem it is directed to. I truly hope this isn't based on real life because it makes me want to sit and quietly cry.

I'm heading off to go read more of your work. I'm so glad you are here to share with us.

Jennifer
