On your knees

You came out of the blue
And off into the deep end you went.
I’ll see you on the other side,
where you can make up for the time we never spent.
All those stories that you tell.
All that sorrow that you sell.
You pay a very high price for not being free.
And I still wonder why you refuse to see.
Still stuck in your misery,
but you do it to yourself.
There’s no one else to blame
And there’s no one left to help.
You just sit there and sulk.
Born without a spine.
You sell yourself so well
To buy a little piece of my time.
You’d kill yourself for some attention.
You are so eager to please.
Well, I never wanted you,
except when you were on your knees.
