Selected for this covert operation
Such a sensation as we kiss cheeks until our mouth is dry
A slight pain like indigestion
Or like pulling teeth one molar at a time
Come on, things are not so bad
I'm glad you could pull yourself together just to fit in
Your smile makes me wonder
Of all the things that we do, beginning to the end
What's with all the malice?
Sitting in a palace full of deceit and hatred
Did the maillady see my temperament
Then so did the man at the grocery store, staring, baking bread
I would never think to carry on with this
But, it seems you wouldn't believe me with a halo over my head
This figures much more than anything
You wouldn't believe me if it was the last thing I ever said
I would go silent for a century
But, that didn't seem to be the choice of the evening
I wouldn't worry as I continue to drink myself dry
If I tried to hide it...well that would just be deceiving
All it takes is composure
And the question: Will I make it back alive?
But you're not supposed to worry about this
The only person is you to sit back and contemplate lies
The walls are not watching us
I hope you're paranoid that they can see right through you
I want to tear apart the emptiness
If only the story of a covert operation was true
But...
It's not, I'm glad
You laugh, I'm bad
You listen, I lie
You walk away, I am why
You are the trigger that is pulled
When it *CLICKS* my head explodes
Its not full of just anything
All the truth that this covert operation holds
In the end I'm laughing
So hysterically that people begin to stare
I won't even see them again
Because I lied when I told you to meet me there
(Grin)
