Scorn my memory.

Faceless I can see this reflection
The wound still fresh in my back
Our passions so elegant so magnificent
That memory is my decay
Ageless is my sin, once so perfect
Eternity once so simple and kind
Replaced by the shadow of betrayal
Replaced by the devoted enemy
Am I to turn to the fire so soon?
My final curse so shallow
Am I to seek another to love?
I return to my stature, faithless one.
Beauty, a horrid temptation of flesh
Mind a cunning tactician of sorrows
The shadow I keep with me
The shadow I see so dear
My battle has been lost
My war has no meaning to me
A solider, a leader, and now nothing
The quite broodings of the smitten
This memory pushed aside, my reminder
Fate, the not so just
All attachments forgotten, hidden
The first stepping stone of new life.
