Replica of the Mind's Eye

Contributed by Dragontear27 on Tuesday, 2nd May 2006 @ 12:32:49 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Replicas of our own sins
conquered by the nightmares of our dreams
we all hope for a false salvation to believe in
wanting to see what's never been seen
the tears we cry might as well be made of blood
because it hurts so much; the intolerable pain
it pours out of us like a poisonous flood
it's enough to make one go insane

A limited existence trapped inside a shell
the inescapable jusk that even death cannot release
yet our solemn thoughts are how we can tell
that the lives we live will never be at peace
an overwhelming sadness enveloped in lies
collapsing the mind into an endless abyss
and this is where the heart slowly dies
making everything that is clear, easy to miss

We all love what is not real
falling for a false sense of security
but deep inside we can surely feel
the key to the door that sets us free
for this is the only chance we have
yet we chose to throw it all away
we cannot have a second chance
because we are fake even to this day

Nice poem! Very deep...

I agree with you when you say that people love what is not real. Blind to reality I suppose because it's just easier to ignore it and in the end only the fakes survive...
