I lie against you
listening to your heartbeat
echoing in your ribcage
And your breathing
muffled and slowed by sleep
A symphony of sound
in its subtlest form
A constant reminder
of the life beside me
of the life inside of me
And if I listen hard enough
they play in harmony
Beat for beat
Breath for breath
Our living lullaby
singing me to sleep
