as I strolled leisurely beside a beautiful blue lagoon
flinging small pebbles to hop, step and jump
across the crystal clear water, I heard some one
whisper from beneath the deep liquid blue.
“Hai, ugly human, where thou be, going? can’t you see my
beauty shine like a fine Gold, when I swim through the dancing
lime light, that shimmering from above, go away… don’t hide
the sun light to hinder my beauty and pride, you… ugly human.”
she was irrefutably so beautiful while she swam; a golden fish
so small and scrawny yet with so much of vain vanity.
I said, “‘o’ dear my golden friend, I ‘m happy for thee, so dazzling
and elegant, but give heed to my humble words.
“ too much of beauty conscious and lime-light might cost thee dearly.”
Chuckling, she said; “ you ugly human what do thou know the thrill
of being under the lime-light I enjoy every flight while my school of buddies
cheer to hail my grace and praise, you envious ugly human go away from
my sight. And don’t hide my lime-light”
I wonderingly moved ahead as I heard a splash behind; saw a patient bird
picked out my golden friend and flew away leaving behind her
lime-light that priced her life so dear. my eyes met for a moment
to read her eyes, that learnt her lesson of life a bit too late.
Beauty that glitters above is mortal; immortal is thy inner self that
glows by thy deeds and be rewarded highly by Him who ‘s sited above thee.

What a gem of a poem Franco!.
Oh la la,- there are all too many to cherish the lime light, and eventually learn the bitter lesson.
What wisdom! and masterly presented.
A real joy to read.
Poor little beauty learned her lesson too late and her vanity even aggravated by the disadainful disparagement of ugly human..
Draw your lesson!
True delightful gem this one Franco
Thanks a lot for sharing

I LOVE TO FISH! Always have, and always will.
This fishing lesson is true to life.
As always Franco, you have it down.

I am in awe of the genius of this piece for it is I that suggestively provoked Franco to ponder and write a poem called Lime-Light Thrill. I am honored ya heeded my request and, like I said, in awe of the genius and wisdom went into it. This'n's a classic!!
