Become The Words

Contributed by deadheadpoet on Sunday, 30th April 2006 @ 12:10:10 AM in AEST
Topic: anguished

I am wishing, hoping....
almost
too the point of the most intensive
yearning...
(stomach turned inside out)
to crawl deep inside
to get lost within
(but never forgotten)

These Words

to get lost
within
each
vowel,
consonant,

each digraphic word.....
(escapism)

to have me
Become The Words
Magically
Artistically
to flow
to paper
(fluidity)

To Become The Words
to take my pain
my fears
so far away
from here

To Become The Words
that cannot
be spoken

Not even on the deafest ears

To Become The Words
of terror
injustice
love
peace

in this gnarled old life
I've lived forever

in

all

these

words.

April, 2006
Laura Horner

omigoodness... boy, does this make sense to me! I think I know this sort of 'moment' (I've tried to capture it myself along the way). There is... well... there is much in a moment like that and it can feel, I think, near impossible to capture it all. It's a bit like trying to lasso the sky in the middle of a terrific storm. Ah, but you did well here!!! This speaks to me so clearly and it, yes!, does communicate the moment.

I really like this, Laura... I found an echo of myself in the middle of it, you know? And hon? The moment will pass. In the interim, close you eyes and take a deep breath whenever you need to - and - keep doing this. : )

It's been a while laura, but i'm not dissapointed. This indeed has a really melancholic, blank feel about it, something that is reinforced by the style in which it is written. Can't wait for more,
black.

I love the imagery of crawling into your own words and the escapism sounds like a great trip.

If I could crawl into words to take my anguish away i'd be one of those great stories in a..err porno mag!

Seriously great work Doris, and I don't say it lightly when I say...

I can relate to this piece.

I love what Jen said, and I have to agree, you are one of the poets that make this site worthwhile, Laura.

*hugs you tight, tight, tight*

I love this, I can relate to it too, you know. I think has something to do with us being poets ;)

Wonderful write, my friend. I just wish it wasn't so sad.

Stay strong, hun.

Ah Laura,

You are very good with words, and very descriptive words that seem to denote a lot of pain and agony. Yet interspersed are more positive words woven in very creatively. Yet, I think our soul would seek a manner of expression that would transcend word; and that's where reading between the lines comes in, the subliminal message. A message of a tender loving soul and acceptance.

Peace Laura, well done

Will

You, yourself have caught a moment here that many a poet strives to attain, to become the words, the poem, the moment.
Bravo!!

Your shelter is between the lines of the heart in this one, screaming in turmoil from the depths of your soul, a curious feeling one gets from this write. A fine peice of work indeed, says alot between the lines.

Laura; this is hands-down my absolute favourite write by you!!! There is a beautiful sorrow to this piece that makes it so incredibly moving, (and I have no doubt...) stirred every poets' heart; deep within, when they stumbled across this most impressive poem. Very well done!

Laura, a powerful poem regarding the pain and remorse in your life. Even the way you structure the poem, in a liniar column adds to the narrowed focus of discontentness in your life. I've noticed other writes with a similar style. Perhaps that's a symbol for a focus on the pain in your life. It saddens me to see you struggle so, yet I admire and respect you so much for your courage and tenacity.

Bless you my friend

Will
